At last the long wait is over; Maruti Swift 2011 model has finally been launched in Delhi. This new model is swanky, more fuel efficient and has better performance. This version has taken longer to come to India even while there was a great success of the latest international version last year.
The new Swift is expected to come in different hues such as solid bright red, metallic garnet orange, pearl metallic arctic white, metallic ozone blue, metallic silky silver, metallic iridium gold, metallic azure grey, metallic midnight black.
The new Maruti Swift has many new improvements over the previous model. First thing, which is not visually noticeable is that car has increased in size and every body panel of the new Swift 2011 is different from the previous one. The new Swift 2011 is taller than the existing Swift by about 155mm. Now the new length is 3850 mm (compared to the existing 369 mm), but it will still pass for a small category car. There will be more space to the new model and will make it a more appealing car to use.
The width of the car also has been increased from 1690mm to 1695mm which is by far a very negligible change. The height of the new model is 1510mm compared to the old 1530mm.
For better management and appearance the new Swift has a wheelbase of 2430mm whereas the older version had 2390mm. The engine has not seen any change though and has remained K12 Suzuki 1200cc series engine. The visual appeal of the new Swift is far more than the older version with the tail lights extending to the sides and the crystal clear lamps at both front and rear ends make it an adorable piece.
There is a change in prices too. With six variants of the new car being available in the market, the new Swift 2011 official price in India starts at INR 4.22 Lakhs to 5.53 Lakhs Ex-showroom Delhi for Lxi (base petrol) variant and INR 5.17 Lakhs to 6.38 Lakhs for the Zdi (fully loaded diesel) variant.
The new Swift is a characteristic illustration of a contemporary hatchback with all the competence and expertise to give you a wonderful drive experience, while ensuring your safety and comfort. Even before the launch, 50,000 bookings were made for the car.
